Due to severe cold, Second Helpings has canceled all volunteer shifts and Culinary Job Training for Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Limited staff will be on hand to deliver emergency meals to the partner agencies who remain open and serving the hungry during the dangerous cold weather.
We encourage all volunteers to stay indoors, stay warm and safe. Assuming temperatures rise, regular volunteer shifts will resume on Thursday, January 31st. Keep your eyes on Second Helpings social media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest updates.
Thanks to all everyone who fights hunger in Central Indiana with us each day. All of our emergency pantry food went out ahead of the cold front on Tuesday. During the winter months, when weather gets extreme and the heat bills rise, our neighbors become even more vulnerable. Your commitment to feed this community makes this work possible.
