On Dec. 8, Second Helpings announced the addition of Tosseia R. Holmes to the organization’s senior leadership team as the new Chief Operating Officer / Chief Financial Officer.
Holmes brings a wealth of not-for-profit, accounting, and business management experience to Second Helpings. Holmes is currently the Interim Executive Director of the Crooked Creek Northwest Community Development Corporation, as well as a consultant who assists small business owners and entrepreneurs with financial, business planning and human resource needs.
Holmes’ first interaction with Second Helpings was more than 15 years ago as an Associate with the United Way’s Minority Key Club. Since then, she has held leadership positions in finance and administration for Alpha Gamma Delta and Eastern Star Church.
“As a self-described ‘builder,’ Tosseia will bring to our organization the energy and expertise needed for the challenges ahead,” said CEO Jennifer Vigran. “Just as important is that she is passionate about food insecurity and the opportunity to join our team.”
“Of course, this transition is bittersweet,” Vigran continued. “We’re grateful to Mike Eline for the dedication and expertise that he brought to Second Helpings 9 years ago and happy for him as he enters retirement. This organization has grown and changed dramatically during Mike’s time here, thanks to his leadership.”
During Eline’s tenure, Second Helpings made extensive building renovations to double the organization’s Hunger Relief capacity and expand the Culinary Job Training program. Second Helpings also replaced the entire fleet of delivery vehicles and established an endowment and a legacy society for planned giving. In 2017, Eline was named “CFO of the Year” by the Indianapolis Business Journal.
Holmes will begin her orientation Dec. 9 and will assume the role on a full-time basis on Jan. 4, 2021.
