The incredible ladies at Marigold Clothing have been longtime supporters of Second Helpings. “We became and stayed involved because we liked what Second Helpings was doing. It’s our responsibility to help people who are hungry in the community,” owner Linda Shikany explained in a blog post last fall.
The contemporary women’s clothing store has remained an integral part of the Broad Ripple neighborhood since they opened their doors in 1989.
The support of the “Marigals” has taken shape in a wide variety of ways over the years: Tonic Ball sponsorships, pasta drives, office supply drives, Corks & Forks sponsorships, donating a percentage of sales, group volunteers – it is tough to count the many ways this group has impacted Second Helpings.
Starting on September 13, Marigold will continue its generous support of Second Helpings’ food rescue, hunger relief and culinary job training efforts. 10% of sales on September 13th will go directly to Second Helpings. Until Sunday, September 17th, Marigold will collect rice donations. Bring in 5 pounds of rice, and you will be registered to win a $228 gift Marigold gift certificate! The winner will be picked at random on Sunday, September 17th at 5pm.
