We’re only 2 weeks away from Souper Bowls returning in person!
If you’ve attended this event in the past, you know you have an afternoon full of delicious soups to enjoy. If you’ve never been, this is a great event to invite a friend to and introduce them to Second Helpings. Plus, tickets are only $15!
Here’s a little peek at what to expect on Saturday, Feb. 4, 11:30-1:30:
We convert spaces throughout Second Helpings’ building – like our Hunger Relief kitchen, Culinary Job Training classroom, cafeteria, and newly-renovated flex space, to create individual soup stations. You get to choose the soups to try and in what order. You can bounce around and return to your favorites – you’ll have unlimited soup tastings, so no one will know if you jump back in that line a few more times!
As you explore the building, you’ll get to taste soups from local chefs:
- The Alexander (Past Souper Bowls Winner, 2016, 2017, 2018)
- Big Woods Restaurant Group
- Bus Stop Bistro
- Foster’s Café and Catering
- Hard Truth Distilling Co.
- Plate It Up! Catering
- RHB Resources
- Plus, several soups prepared by Second Helpings’ Hunger Relief and Culinary Job Training chefs!
Best of all, you get to decide the winner. Every guest gets a ballot to vote on their favorite soup.
You’ll also enjoy bread to dip into these hearty soups, thanks to our bread sponsor (and longtime food donor) Taylor’s Bakery. There will also be a variety of complimentary drinks available, thanks to sponsor Coca-Cola Consolidated.
Even though this event will look very different from a regular day at Second Helpings, we still incorporate our mission throughout the day. You’ll interact with volunteers and Culinary Job Training students. All soup bowls and serveware are compostable, to help prevent waste.
Finally, while we hope you enjoy all the soups you try, there might be one or two that leaves you wanting more. Don’t worry – we’ll have pints of soup available to purchase to-go. Take them home to enjoy later!
Tickets are still available for Souper Bowls – but act fast!
