On Friday, June 14th, we invite the Crossroads of America, Boy Scouts to join us for Kroger Symphony on the Prairie for a celebration of the music of Queen performed by Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
For the past several summers, Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts in uniform who brought a 16 oz. package of pasta to help #FeedIndy have enjoyed incredible live music at Symphony on the Prairie free of charge thanks to our friends at Printing Partners. The pasta drive has always been a friendly competition between the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to see which group can be the most generous. This season, we’re doing the Scout Nights a little bit differently by separating the event into two separate shows. Girl Scouts in uniform will gain free entry to an evening of Broadway Hits at Symphony on the Prairie on Friday, July 12th with their pasta donation. All adults who plan to attend these shows with their scouts are required to purchase tickets.
Second Helpings volunteers and staff use around 500 pounds of pasta each week to prepare and deliver more than 20,000 meals to Central Indiana residents in need. These donations are critical to our ability to serve this community. Learn more about our Hunger Relief program.
The Scout Nights bring together several partners who are each a big part of Second Helpings’ mission to transform lives through the power of food. Each summer, Second Helpings provides healthy, delicious meals through Girl Scouts of Central Indiana through its summer programs at Camp Dellwood. Also, Kroger is one of our biggest food donors. As such, we are thrilled that Printing Partners has continued to partner with us on a pair of incredible evening of music at Conner Prairie. We hope to see many local scouts in attendance!
